WPSL Inaugural Season 2024
Greater Toledo FC places significant emphasis on each player’s personal and professional growth. We believe that the WPSL serves as an excellent platform for developing successful individuals, paving the way for them to take their careers to the next level. We provide challenging training and competition scenarios to push players beyond their limits and to assist them in building the mental and physical resilience required to excel in the sport. Our team philosophy is geared toward making strides on the field while also developing as complete and confident individuals.
Meet The Leadership Team
Owner
Mike Aubry
Mike spent his childhood playing club soccer in the Toledo area before attending St. John’s Jesuit High School. After graduating from SJJ in 1991 he attended Miami University for one year before returning to the area to complete his undergraduate work at the University of Toledo. In 1996 Mike was instrumental in forming the Greater Toledo Futbol Club where he has been the Executive Director since 1997. In addition to his role with GTFC he has been an Ohio North State Team coach for several years and was the assistant varsity coach at Notre Dame Academy for two years. With strong roots in Northwest Ohio Mike continues to be the core of the most stable and consistent coaching staff in the area.
General Manager
Danny Fisher
Danny Fisher is a native of Staffordshire, England, where he spent time coaching in the academies of EFL sides Walsall, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Shrewsbury Town from 1997 to 2006.
Fisher came to the United States in 2006, originally settling in Pittsburgh. Here, he started as the Director of Coaching for MLS camps and joined the Duquesne University women’s soccer team as an assistant coach. In 2007, Fisher left those posts to become an ODP National Camp coach with the USL Super Y League, overseeing the selection of players from the Midwest region as the head regional scout for the league. He also took on the role of Director of Coaching at local youth club Penns Forest FC, a role he held until joining Pacesetter SC in May of 2009. In his most recent role he served as RDA administrator and coach for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
Fisher holds a UEFA B License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. He has also served as an instructor for United Soccer Coaches
Head Coach
Michael Albert
Michael is from Cincinnati, Ohio. He played youth and club soccer before graduating from Colerain High School. He furthered his career as a 4-year player at the University of Findlay, where he graduated with Bachelor’s Degrees in AYA Social Studies and History. Mike continued his education by earning his Master's Degree in Education. While obtaining his master’s degree, he served as the assistant coach for the University of Findlay men's team. Mike has been coaching club and high school soccer in Northwest Ohio for 11 years and was previously the Director of Coaching for Ohio Extreme before joining GTFC Impact.
Assistant Coach
Josh Dickinson
Josh is from Doncaster, England and grew up playing for Rotterdam United Academy from the ages of 8-16. After playing semi-professionally for two years Josh moved to the United States in 2016. This is where he attended the University of Findlay for four years earning his Bachelor's in Criminal Justice while also playing for the men's soccer team. Josh was 2x All-Region selection and All-Conference selection. He ended his career with 24 goals and 19 assists finishing 2nd in assists, 5th in goals, and 6th in total points conference-wide. In 2021 Josh became the Graduate Assistant for the Division II program Tiffin Women's Soccer, where he graduated with his Master's in Sports Management. In his two years there hee improved the team in wins each year, leading the program to their best record in over a decade. This is all while helping develop multiple All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American players. Josh joins GTFC Impact with his USSF D License and USC Director of Coaching Diploma.
Goalkeeper Coach
Matt Brooks
Matt Brooks grew up in Mentor, OH where he was a 4-year starter at Mentor High School and played on Club and Academy teams. He went on to play at The University of Findlay. As a 4-year starter, he appeared in 66 games and was the team MVP his senior year. Matt joined Pacesetter in 2017 as a Goalkeeping Coach and took over as the Director of Goalkeeping in 2018. In his role, he worked with keepers of all ages, U7-U19, and managed a number of Goalkeeping camps. Matt holds a Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma, Goalkeeping Special Topics Diploma, USSF D, Grassroots Licenses and numerous other certificates and diplomas. Matt has also been an Assistant Girls Varsity Coach at Whitmer High School since 2020.
