OUR STORY

In 1996 The Greater Toledo Futbol Club was founded by full time professional coaches with the desire to create an experience involving the development of the total person.  In our inaugural season, the club consisted of 6 teams including boys and girls with a base of operations in South Toledo.

With hard work, commitment and positive results the club the club grew quickly reaching 35 teams in the fall of 2006.  Due to this rapid growth, then Director of Coaching Mike Aubry made the decision to transition to an all girls club while our boys formed the Toledo Football Academy (TFA) under the guidance of Paul Holdgate.  GTFC continued to flourish as an all girls club and developed a reputation for fielding strong, disciplined teams under a unified club structure.

In 2013 the club began to compete on a regional and national stage which required a shift in the “small club” feel we had always embraced.  In order to compete at the highest levels we had to have a deeper and more talented player pool.  With that in mind a series of expansions changed the Northwest Ohio soccer landscape.  First, GTFC merged with PSC Impact becoming “GTFC Impact” in 2013. This acquisition was followed by the additions of three campuses in Lima, Findlay and Springfield Township to create GTFC South, GTFC HC and GTFC West.  In the fall of 2020 the biggest expansion of all happened as our boys retuned home with the absorption of TFA.  GTFC Impact is now a club of over 1400 players leaving a massive footprint on the local soccer scene.

With the addition of numbers to the already successful club philosophy, Impact was sought after at a regional and national level.  In 2021 the club qualified their 2008 and 2007 girls teams for the USYSA nationals.  The 2007 team advanced to the national semi finals before being eliminated on PKS.  That success led to the club being accepted into the ECNL Regional League for the fall of 2022 on the girls side.  The girls represented well in their first season sending 6 teams to regionals, with the 2004 girls winning the clubs first ever regional championship and again sending the 2007 girls to the national semi finals.  In 2023 the boys also were accepted into the ECNL RL and the boys and girls youth programs were also accepted into the Pre-ECNL.

As The Greater Toledo Futbol Club is preparing to complete it’s third decade of competition it’s star only continues to rise.
